City leaders, including Mayor Cornell Harvey, approved Hand in Hand’s Conditional Use Permit in January 2020 — a first for Permanent Supportive Housing in Brunswick. Mayor Cosby Johnson has also been instrumental in supporting Hand in Hand. 

The late Mike Williams, the Reverend Jeffrey Muchison, and Glynn County Commissioner Allen Booker were important neighborhood proponents of the project from the start. City zoning officials, including John Hunter and the Zoning Commission, helped bring a new kind of housing to Brunswick’s code — a stretch of imagination that made The Grove at Correll Commons possible.
