Right now, over 400 of our neighbors are experiencing homelessness
Homelessness may be caused by a variety of situations including job loss, inability to recover from hurricane damage, changes in family, mental and physical disabilities, and addictions.
Brunswick is the only city in the state of Georgia where over half of the households earn less than $25,000 a year and 60% of the city limit residents are below the poverty line. Brunswick has a poverty rate of 39%âthree times the national average (12.8%) and more than twice that for the state as a whole.
